easy Baby Blanket
My friend is expecting a baby, and I wanted to make her a baby blanket. I have looked at many patterns, until I finally found the pattern which I based my pattern on:
https://patriciafentie.com/2021/03/09/crocheted-baby-blanket-for-beginners/
I have used three colors (white, mint and grey), but you can most definitely use only one color or as many as you’d like.
I have changed colors after every 3rd row, but you do you and chose whatever you’d like.
Here we go – the pattern is as follows……
Materials:
4.5 mm crochet hook
White, mint, grey worsted weight yarn
scissors, needle, stitch marker
Steps and Procedures:
Blanket:
- with 4.5 mm crochet hook
- Ch 85
- SC down the ch line (84 SC), ch 1, turn
R1. * Make (SC+2 DC) in the 1st stitch – skip nest st* (repeat from* to*) – end with a SC in the last st, ch 1, turn
R2-74. Repeat R1.
R75. SC in every stitch
- SC around the sides of the blanket, making sure you make 3 SC in all 4 corners.
Border:
When you finish with the SC around the body of the blanket, you can make the border.
- sl st in the next st
- * skip next st, make 5 DC in the next st, skip next st, sl st in the next st* (repeat from * to * around the blanket)
This is it! It is such an easy blanket to make. I think it turned out beautifully. The finished size is 64 x 78 cm.

Mermaid Snuggle Sack
About a month ago a friend asked me if I could crochet a mermaid snuggle sack for her little girl as a birthday present. I immediately started researching and looking for patterns on line. I tried a few different patterns (all not very successful) until I found this one from Yarnspirations.com. Oh, my Goodness - it was a dream come true.... a super easy pattern, wonderfully explained in detail with great guidance from the commentator, I love it!
I used three different colors (1 strand of each) and an 8.00 mm crochet hook. It took me about 10 hours to make it (not in one sitting of course) and 15 skeins of yarn (5 of each color)....

Update 2019......
Since my "Mermaid Snuggle Sack" has been a huge success, I am back with the popular demand. I wanted to clarify the pattern, and write up some of my minor additions/changes to the pattern:
- once the sack is finished, after you have sewn (I have slip stitched) the seams together, and before adding the tail, make sure to make a row of SC on the remaining stitches of the back seam and a beginning chain for a cleaner, more finished look.
- instead of sewing the bottom opening, I have made a row of 20 SC to close the bottom of the sack
- after making a tail, make a row of SC at the edges of the tail (side 36 SC-top 20 SC-other edge 36 SC)
- sl st the tail to the bottom of the sack
- the "adult size" is 145 cm long (top to the tip of the tail)

hooded blanket - a cat
Wow, this was a huge project! A friend commissioned this hooded blanket a few months ago and it took me a while to figure out the pattern and a way to handle and tackle such a big project. This was the biggest project I have done so far, and although it did take almost 2 months to make it (careful planning+acquiring massive amounts of yarn+trying out different patterns+actual crocheting) it is definitely WELL WORTH it and I am so very proud of it:)
Although I had an actual photograph of what the finished project should look like, I had a somewhat difficult time finding the appropriate pattern for it. There are several post on Pinterest of the same project but the patterns are not free, so I needed to make my own. I am gladly posting it right here for all to use and benefit from it. So, here we go..... Just a heads up - this is a very bulky ad heavy project, so if you do not want it that heavy I suggest using only 2 strands of yarn and a smaller hook.
Materials:
at least 20 skeins of grey yarn (I used 4 ply and 3 stands at the time)
a bit of white, blue, black yarn
10.00 mm crochet hook
Steps and Procedures:
After I found this website of the actual pattern for the Chai Latte blanket, I knew I was on the right track:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-feVI1wMUk
Thank you Mindy for the free pattern:)

Outer Ear:

1. ch 9 and SC down the ch (8 SC), ch 1 and turn

Assembling the hoodie to the blanket:
- since there is 122 SC in the length of the blanket and 54 SC in the longest side of the hoodie I put the hoodie in the center of the rim of the blanket leaving 34 SC on each side. I simply sl stitched hoodie to the blanket and voila:)\
I decided to put the fringes on the left and right sides of the blanket, leaving the bottom edge untouched so that the shell stitch could be noticed. I cut sets of 1 black, 1 grey and 1 white yarn 24 cm long and put them in the SC along the Right and the Left side of the blanket
I also put a few fringes along the bottom side of the hoodie.
This was an enormous project but well worth it:) Perfect for cuddling on the sofa with the book and a hot cocoa or tea:)
