women's sock-slippers
It is getting colder in my part of the world, and I can't help but want to wear warm socks on my feet. So, I wanted to experiment a bit and have created this simple one skein women's sock-slippers.
These are so super simple to make, it took me an hour to make this pair. I have had this awesome warm yarn that I was dying to try out and this was a perfect project to use this yarn. It is a bit thicker yarn so I ended up using a bigger hook. These would fit a women's shoe size 38-39.
Materials:
worsted weight yarn
5.00 mm crochet hook
stitch marker
scissors, sewing needle
Steps and Procedure:
Slipper part: (foot part)
- working in the round, starting with the toe:
R1: Make a magic circle and ch2, dc x 12 in circle, join, pull circle closed. (12)
R2: *hdc x 2, 2hdc* 4 times, join. (16)
R3: *hdc x 3, 2hdc* 4 times, join. (20)
R4: *hdc x 3, 2hdc* 5 times, join. (25)
R5-12: hdc x 25, join. (25)
- continue working on the bottom of the slipper - working in rows instead of rounds:
Row13: ch1, hdc in same stitch, hdc x 19 (20)
R14-21: ch1 and turn work, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc x 19 (20)
- Repeat the last row (20 HDC) until you reach the desired length for your foot size. As you want the slipper sock to be snug, I’d suggest that the slipper be at least 2-3 cm shorter than the length of your foot. The slipper will stretch on the foot when worn.
- Joining at the heel:
Turn the slipper and fold it so the last row you crocheted is in half, matching up your stitches evenly. Make 10 sl st to connect the sides together.
- Cut yarn and weave in ends.
Sock part: (leg part)
- working in the round again:
R1: Join yarn to middle stitch at the back of the heal and ch 1, sc in the same stitch and then sc evenly around the top of the slipper sock opening and join with a sl st to your first sc (26 SC) (There should be 1 stitch per row down each side.)
R2-9: ch1, make 1 HDC in each stitch around
R10: ch 1, make 1 SC in each stitch around
- Cut yarn and weave in ends.
- if you'd like your sock to be longer continue with the HDC, but I ran out of yarn, so I stopped here.

crochet women's Santa slippers
These Santa slippers are so fun to make that I have already made at least 10 pairs for friends and family members. I have made them to fit women's shoe sizes (38/39 and 40/41). Bare in mind that it is better that you make them fit tightly because they will stretch and become loose over time. The pattern is from www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/christmas-slipper-socks
I have made them with double strands of yarn and a 5.00 mm crochet hook. Check out the link, it is written wonderfully and I made no changes at all to the original pattern.
The only thing I did differently is the belt buckle and this is the pattern I have used:
- Making a Belt Buckle:
- with double strands of yellow yarn and 5.00 mm crochet hook
- ch 15
- start crocheting from the 2nd stitch from the hook, making a SC in next 2 stitches, and 3 SC in the 4th stitch from the hook
- make a SC in next 3 st, make 3 SC in the next stitch
- make a SC in next 2 stitches, make 3 SC in the next stitch
- make a SC in next 3 st, make 3 SC in the next stitch
- cut the yarn, and sew the beginning of the chain to the end of the chain making a rectangle shape
- sew the rectangle (buckle) to the middle of the slippers (around the 2 rows of the black stripe)

Crochet women's flip flops
Here is another great crochet pattern I found on Whistle & Ivy. I did my own version and changed it a bit to fit my needs. The original pattern calls for a horizontal strap, but I found it was unnecessary for my flip flops, so I skipped that part of the pattern. I made the flip flops to fit size 9 - (Approx. 10 ½”) - EU size 40. The sole is worked in the round entirely, so NO sl st or ch 1. This is an easy pattern, a half an hour project you can make for yourself or as a gift:) So, here it is my version:
Materials:
The pattern calls for bulky yarn, I had none but I used 4 strands of a medium worsted yarn
6.00 mm crochet hook
needle, scissors
Steps and Procedures:
Sole: (worked in the round)
Left foot:
- with Color 1
Ch 20
1. Sc 3 in 2nd ch from hook. Sc 9. Hdc 2. Dc 6. 7 dc in last st.Working across the other side: Dc 6. Hdc 2. Sc 9. (44 sts)
2. 2 hdc in next 3 sts. Hdc 18. 2 dc in next 2 sts. 2 sc in next 3 sts. Hdc 18. (52 sts)
3. *Hdc, 2 hdc in next st* work 3 times. Hdc 19. 2 hdc in next st. Dc. 2 dc in next st. Dc. 2 sc in next st. *Sc, 2 sc in next st* work twice. Sc 18. (60 sts)
Right foot:
Ch 20
1. Sc 3 in 2nd ch from hook. Sc 9. Hdc 2. Dc 6. 7 dc in last st. Working across the other side: Dc 6. Hdc 2. Sc 9. (44 sts)
2. 2 hdc in next 3 sts. Hdc 18. 2 sc in the next 3 sts. 2 dc in next 2 sts. Hdc 18. (52 sts)
3. *Hdc, 2 hdc in next st* work 3 times. Sc 19. *2 sc in next st, sc in next st* work twice. 2 sc in next st. Dc. 2 dc in next st. Dc. 2 hdc in next st. Hdc 18. (60 sts)Tie off.
Straps: (For both slippers)
- With Color 2:
Sl st al around the sole (60 sl sts)
Find middle, with the heel at the bottom. Count 12 to the right, and join yarn. (You will be working through the sl sts for this round.) Work towards the heel.
1. Ch 1.Sc in same st. Sc 3. Ch 15. Sk 16 sts, sc in next st. Sc 3. Ch 25. Join the ch 25 with a sl st at the beginning stitch, making sure it’s not twisted.
2. Ch 1. Sc in same st. Sc around until you reach the beginning. Tie off and weave in ends.
- Line your strap in place, even with the stitch above where the body attaches to the sole. Using your ends, sew in place with a needle
- ch 7 to make a thong piece. Attach the thong piece in the stitch that is either 2 sts to the right (for left flip-flop) or 2 sts to the left (for right flip-flop.) (The thong will go between the toes, not the crochet strap.) Tie a small and secure knot at the bottom of the sole. For further sturdiness, I put some hot glue on the bottom to secure it and to make sure it does not unravel.
I omitted the strap that is supposed to go around the arch of the foot, because I did not think it was unnecessary and it looked awkward on my foot. This is what my flips flops look like, they are supper comfy, easy and fast to make, and are great to wear around the house.

Crochet Boat Slippers
Wow! This was a project of a lifetime! I have worked so diligently and it took me about 3 hours in one sitting to make these slippers. They are super comfy! The pattern is from Whistle & Ivy, and it is written really well, but pay attention - read and follow it carefully. The pattern is in pdf file attachment, I printed it out and it was easier for me to follow that way. This is the link:

And this is how my slippers turned out... I am feeling rather proud of myself now:)

Crochet women's slippers - sandals
It has been a while since I posted about my crocheting creations. I have crocheted a few great items over the past few months and one of them are these slippers-sandals. They are meant to be worn inside, but with the addition of the more durable sole you could turn them into an outside pair of sandals to be warn on a dry, hot, summer's day like we have been experiencing in my part of the world for the past month or so.....
The pattern is a cooperation of Crafts by Amanda and Whistle & Ivy - thank you ladies for an awesome free pattern and instructions. I followed it carefully, and the results are perfect. The only thing I changed is that I crocheted in continuous rounds without ch1 at the beginning of the round (as indicated in the pattern), and for that I definitely used a marker.

Crochet Boat Slippers Revisited
I decided to revisit the Whistle & Ivy crocheted Women's Boat Slippers recently. I needed a gift for a friend, so I decided to make this lovely pair. I have already made these slippers and have made a post about them. These are moderately complicated to make but require a great deal of counting and concentration when crocheting. The pattern is in pdf file attachment, I printed it out and it was easier for me to follow that way. Bethany from Whistle & Ivy also has the youtube video that explains how to make the straps on the top of the shoe. You can find all of these on this link:

And this is how my slippers turned out... I chose to do it in blue and grey this time.... This is Size 8 US (39-40 EU)
