1. "under the sea" hand puppet collection:
1. "Mermaid"
So, here we are. I have been wanting to make these sets of hand puppets for my class' puppet theater that we recently made in my school . My kiddles will love to play and put on drama plays and skits with these adorable hand puppets. I decided to make 2 sets - "Under the Sea" set and "Once Upon a Time" set. A big thank you to ekayg.com/mermaid-hand-puppet/! Thank you Erin for the free pattern!

Assembly of the eyes:

- Sew the whites down to the top of the head.
- Sew the red backs over the backs of the eyes, wrong side against the back of the eye. Be sure it is covering all of the white in the back, sewing it onto the back of the head, as well as over the top of the eyeball. Weave in ends.

3. "octopus"
Here is another pattern in the "Under the Sea" collection. This time it is this adorable Octopus. Although this pattern was easy to make, it did take me a while to make all of the 8 tentacles their undersides and and sew them onto the body. Nevertheless, it was worth it, just look at how adorable it turned out. Thank you Erin for the free pattern! ekayg.com/octopus-hand-puppet-2/

Assembly notes:
It is easiest to sew the crown or bow onto the bangs, BEFORE sewing all of the hair to the head. Sew your hair accessory to the center of the bangs, just above, and maybe a little behind your curls. Now, match the bangs up at the top of the head, trying to match curls to curls as best you can, with crown or bow centered, and sew the bangs to the curls of the hair behind it. And sew around the top of the head. I pushed the curls up, and stitched them to the forehead underneath the curls, leaving them with a bouncy, free look.

6. Making the hair accessory - Crown (Yellow/Gold)
Ch 10
R1: *(SC, HDC) in 2nd ch from hook, (DC, ch 3, sl st back into 1st ch, DC into same ch as first DC) all in next ch, (HDC, SC) in next ch,* (SC, HDC) in next ch, (TRC, ch 3, sl st back into 1 ch above TRC, TRC into same ch as first TRC) all in next ch, (HDC, SC) in next ch, repeat from * to * and fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew above the curls of the bangs first, before sewing the hair to the head.
7. Making Hair Accessory: Bow in Magenta
- Begin with a very long tail, for wrapping around the center of your bow later. The whole bow will be worked into the very first ch, referred to as beginning ch.
Ch 4, (3 TRC into the beginning ch, ch 3, sl st into beginning ch), ch 3 and repeat the first instructions in the () to make the other side of the bow, (ch 5, sl st into 3rd ch from hook, ch 2, sl st into beginning ch)2x
- Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Using the beginning tail, wrap around the center of the bow, repeatedly, until it looks like the knot of a bow, then knot and fasten off in the back. Using the end tail, sew onto the base of the bun.
